Sono Coffee maker must be a new product with better aesthetics than the company’s older products and other ones on the market.
It has to be made with low-cost production and simple plastic molding techniques.
All the coffee makers in Iran were imported, so no original designs were found. There was a need for a new body design that could make some decent coffee.
The height for pouring coffee must be considered for various glass sizes.
The body must come in colors.
There should be enough space for two glasses on the plate.
The Glass holding plate must be easily removable and washable.
The product had to be ready for mass production, so no mistakes in details would have been accepted.
Draft angles had to be observed; Fewer parts should have been used for easy assembly.
Thread and screw places must be hidden.
The coffee maker had to seem a one-part singular surface that shows off the integrity of the product.
The switch button and power cable had to be set on the body carefully, so it won’t affect the shape and be found by the user simply.
To design this coffee maker, we set up an experiment. We asked a lot of housewives to choose between different products.
With Kansei engineering and different kinds of experiments. This was the final design; 87 out of 100 people chose our product.

All parts have their dedicated space to fit in easily. Optimal for assembly. Everything is designed considering the minimum cost of production, nonetheless the highest quality. The filter basket can be easily removed and is washable for sustainability and long-time usage.

Putting together all the metal sheets and making them sealed was one of the challenges.
The design of the machine’s body should be done with a user-centered approach that is as easy to use as possible.
Due to the use of materials, parts available in local markets, and standard production methods, with minimal time and cost to manufacture the product, the design of the mechanism and the body of the machine should have reached the highest level of productivity and profitability in the field of production.
